The April Dress

The April Dress

This gingham check dress by Kate Barton caught my eye immediately. I love the maxi length with all the beautiful trimmed detailing in the chicest colour of the season, khaki green. Made in organic cotton, it is the perfect weight for our erratic British weather and will get you from city to beach to country with ease. This small brand excels at making pieces that you wear forever and this dress is testament to that. See below how I’d style it throughout the season.

Tonal Tones

You can refer to this as ‘drenching’ or ‘tonal’ dressing, either way it is a really clever styling option with any colour. I love it in these khaki and cream tones for a very chic pulled together look.

Off to the beach! We wish… but when we finally get there you can throw this over a swimsuit and add lovely raffia accessories. I’ve added citrus yellow into the mix in the place of some real sunshine.

Country Escape

Most of the week I am based in the countryside and not all dresses work for outdoor life, but this one does. Layer it up with the addition of a practical boot (I live in these particular ones) and you will be ready for anything. Excluding mud…
