The March dress

The Esme dress by ALIGNE

The Esme dress by ALIGNE is genuinely the first dress I have really wanted to buy this year and wear straight away. It doesn’t look particularly special on first sight but look closer and it has the chicest detailing and the most flattering cut. I love the mandarin collar with the full sleeves in crisp cotton poplin. The elasticated panels on the front and back make it supremely comfortable to wear and the dark navy colour feels very modern. The Esme is that slightly pared down dress that will work exceptionally hard in your wardrobe, it only needs a fraction of styling which makes it all the easier to wear. I am wearing it with old favourite boots from Arket. See my ideas below!

Colour pop

The Esme is the perfect canvas for the colour pop of the season… red. I’ve layered in classic camel tones to allow the red pieces to have their moment.

Dress: ALIGNE, £129
Coat: Whistles, £399 Jumper: Chinti & Parker, £245 Boots: Isabel Marant, £740 Bag: Russell & Bromley, £275

Modern Monochrome

Monochrome doesn’t have to mean just black, the dark navy of the Esme dress looks so good with whites and creams. Just add smart tailoring for a polished look.

Dress: ALIGNE, £129
Jacket: Fold, £495 Earrings: Zara, £15.99 Shoes: Mango, £49.99 Bag: Me+Em, £495

Spring layers

I love the checked waistcoat as an extra layer and the fullness of the skirt will look amazing under a trench. Add a good pair of loafers for an everyday look come springtime, until then add sheer navy tights!

Coat: Jigsaw, £262 Waistcoat: By Soren, £250 Shoes: Ganni, £227 Bag: Cambridge Satchel, £172
